 Jason Parrish is as a professional actor, director, and theatre producer currently in residence as Associate Artistic Director and Ensemble Artist with Florida Repertory Theatre. Jason’s work spans large-scale musicals, broad comedy, new work, readings, and theatre for young audiences.

His directing credits with Florida Rep include The Legend of Georgia McBride, Ring of Fire, Let’s Fall in Love (which he co-created), Buddy: the Buddy Holly Story, the National New Play Network Rolling World premiere of Alabaster by Audrey Cefaly, A Gentleman’s Guide to Love & Murder, Ripcord, Million Dollar Quartet, Steel Magnolias, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, A Christmas Story, The Fantasticks, and Tru. With Florida Rep’s Theatre for Young Audiences Series, his work includes the world premiere collaboration with Christopher Parks on A Journey to Oz, Alexander & the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, Ella Enchanted, The Lion, the Witch, & The Wardrobe, Curious George: The Golden Meatball, Miss Nelson is Missing, Schoolhouse Rock Live, How I Became a Pirate, The New Kid, and The Mischief Makers.

As a professional actor, his over thirty appearances with Florida Rep include six seasons in David Sedaris & Joe Mantello’s The Santaland Diaries and 2014’s nationally acclaimed production of Arsenic and Old Lace, as well as Mark Shanahan’s A Sherlock Carol, Driving Miss Daisy, Cabaret, How the Other Half Loves, Over the River and Through the Woods, The Dingdong, Twelve Angry Men, Dividing the Estate, Around the World in 80 Days, The Hound of the Baskervilles, Clybourne Park, Greetings!, Miracle on South Division Street, The Big Bang, Noises Off, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.

An advocate for new work, Parrish has led Florida Rep’s PlayLab Festival of New Works 2014, which has produced 32 play readings, including two commissioned works for young audiences - Journey to Oz and Dream within a Dream: The Spirit of Poe, both by Christopher T. Parks. Florida Rep’s PlayLab is responsible for six world premiere or regional premiere productions: Split in Three by Daryl Lisa Fazio, The Dingdong by Mark Shanahan, George Washington’s Teeth by Mark St. Germain, Damascus by Bennett Fisher, and the National New Play Network Rolling World Premieres of Doublewide by Stephen Spotswood (2017) and the 11-theatre National New Play Network Rolling World Premiere of Alabaster by Audrey Cefaly (2019/2020).

Jason also serves as President of the Florida Professional Theatres Association, a statewide networking and advocacy organization for professional theatre in Florida. Jason’s acting work with other theatres includes guest appearances with the New York Philharmonic’s Young People’s Concert Series at Lincoln Center, as well as Actors’ Playhouse (Miami), Riverside Theatre (Vero Beach), Greenbrier Valley Theatre (WV), and work as a producer, actor, and director with Ocean State Theatre Company/Theatre by the Sea (Rhode Island)
